I’m Bill Whitney, an insurance agent based in Rocklin. Together with Melissa, my wife, we started the Whitney Agency in 2018.
Before starting our own business, I had careers in software development and sales, automotive service centers, automotive parts distribution, commercial furniture, computer hardware, and office products industries. I have a B.S. in Finance from CSU, Chico.
In all these roles, my main goal was to help my customers find and choose the best solutions for them.

I’m Melissa Whitney, and I manage Whitney Agency and direct our marketing efforts.
I am an elementary teacher with Rocklin Unified School District. I have a B.S. in Agricultural Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and a Master in Education from CSU, Fresno.
My career before coming into teaching included telephone systems sales, commercial office furniture, and mass mailing marketing.
We can bring an understanding and sensitivity to your concerns and use our insight to produce solutions and strategies for your family.
Local and Personable
Bill grew up in the East Bay Area and Melissa in Southern California. Married in 1988, we moved to the Sacramento Area, settling in Rocklin in 1991. We raised our three children here in Rocklin and became “empty nesters” (sort of).
We started the Whitney Agency as a business that fit our capabilities and experience. We wanted a community focused business that could grow regionally as far as we wanted to take it. Insurance and Financial planning fit our requirements perfectly.
Additionally, being able to serve our neighbors, family, and clients in an area of life that is so important appeals to us.
